Puppy Training in Dubai
The first few months with a new puppy are a critical period. Early experiences strongly influence how your puppy feels about the world—other dogs, strangers, noises—but behavior is always shaped by multiple factors over time.
Most puppy problems that people struggle with later — pulling on the leash, jumping on visitors, barking at other dogs —are connected to early learning and environment. Not because the puppy is "bad," but because they are still learning what to do.
We work with puppies in your home and in real-world settings across Dubai, so your puppy learns in the places where it actually matters.
What We Cover
Socialization
There is a time-limited golden window —roughly the first 16 weeks of your puppy’s life— when they are especially open to new experiences. During this stage, their brain is highly open to accept new people, places and sounds as “normal,” which has a lasting impact on how they respond to the world as adults.
Getting this phase right is key to building confidence and reducing the risk of fear-based behaviors later on. We guide you through introducing your puppy to different people, dogs, surfaces, and environments in a way that feels safe, positive, and appropriate—so your puppy learns to navigate the world with confidence, not fear.
In Dubai, this means working around the specific challenges here: busy parks, apartment living, and limited off-leash areas.
Potty training
Potty training in a Dubai apartment is different from potty training in a house with a garden. We help you set up a routine that works for your living situation — when to go out, where to go, how to read your puppy's signals, and what to do when accidents happen (because they will).
Bite inhibition
Puppies use their mouths to explore the world — it’s a normal part of development. What they need to learn over time is how to regulate the pressure of their bite through feedback from their environment and interactions.
We support this learning through guided play and clear, positive feedback, helping your puppy develop a gentle and appropriate way of using their mouth that fits into everyday life.
Leash walking
Walking on a leash is not a natural experience for a dog, it is a skill that develops over time, a skill that needs to be taught. From putting the harness on, to stepping outside and exploring the environment, every part of the process is part of the learning experience.
We focus on helping your puppy feel comfortable and relaxed on a leash, guiding them to move through their environment with confidence and ease, while building positive associations with their everyday walks.
Basic foundation skills
Basic foundation skills go far beyond behaviors like sit, stay, come or leave it. They include things like name recognition and early socialisation with the environment — including everyday sounds, movement, people, traffic, scooters, motorbikes, and general life experiences. Alongside this, we can also work on other basic behaviors that can support communication and safety in everyday life, such as sit, recall, and impulse control. We teach these using positive reinforcement, creating clear and consistent learning experiences for your puppy.
While these skills are useful, our focus is first on having a puppy whose needs are met, who feels comfortable in their environment, and who develops positive social experiences with the world around them. From that foundation, these skills can be added in a way that supports daily life, rather than defining it.
How Sessions Work
We come to your home. Puppy training works best in the environment where your puppy actually lives — your apartment, your building's hallways, the park you walk to every day. That is where the behavior needs to happen, so that is where we train.
Each session includes hands-on training with your puppy and coaching for you. The goal is not that we train your puppy for you — the goal is that you understand what your puppy is telling you and how to respond. You are with your puppy 24 hours a day. We are there for one hour. The real training happens in between.
We also work in outdoor settings — parks, sidewalks, dog-friendly areas — so your puppy learns to be comfortable in the real world, not just inside your apartment.
Why Start Early
Puppies go through a critical socialisation period that gradually closes around 16 weeks of age. During this time, they are naturally more open to new experiences, which makes early exposure especially valuable. Starting early does not mean putting pressure on a young puppy — it’s about helping them build positive, low-stress experiences with the world while they are most receptive to learning.
Early guidance helps lay important foundations for future behavior. It can help prevent some common challenges from developing and makes it easier for your puppy to learn new skills as they grow. However, behavior is always influenced by multiple factors over time, and it continues to develop as the dog grows and their environment changes.
As we always say: it is never too early, and it is never too late — but earlier experiences can make the process smoother and more effective.
Our Approach
We use force-free, science-based methods. That means using positive reinforcement, with no punishment or aversive techniques that cause any pain or discomfort to your dog.We look at your puppy as an individual — their breed, their history, their temperament, their living situation — and build a training plan around who they actually are.
Our approach is based on the L.E.G.S. model of applied ethology: Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self. This means we don't just look at what your puppy is doing — we look at why, and we create the right conditions for them to succeed in the environment they live in.
Enric and Anna are IAABC-accredited dog trainers with over 10 years of experience working with dogs . You are working with people who understand dog behavior at a deep level, not just someone who teaches sit and stay.
Common Questions About Puppy Training
When should I start training my puppy?
As soon as you bring them home. If your puppy is 8 weeks old, you can start now. If your puppy is 6 months old and you haven't started yet, you can still start now. The best time to start is always today.
My puppy bites everything — is this normal?
Yes. Puppies explore the world with their mouths. It is a completely normal part of their development and it does not mean your puppy is aggressive. Our role is to guide them over time so they learn appropriate ways to interact and adjust how they use their mouth in different situations.
How many sessions will we need?
It depends on your puppy, your goals, and how things progress. Every dog is different, and their learning is influenced by many factors, so we tailor the support as we go rather than following a fixed plan.
We will always take the time to understand your situation properly and discuss what level of support makes the most sense for you and your puppy during the first consultation. From there, we adjust and guide you based on how your puppy develops and what they need at each stage.
Some families feel confident after a few sessions and continue on their own, while others prefer ongoing support as their puppy grows. Our goal is always to help you understand your dog better so you can feel confident moving forward.
Do you train in my home?
Yes. We come to you anywhere in Dubai. Training happens in your home and in the outdoor areas you actually use — your neighborhood, your park, your building's common areas.
