Frequently Asked Questions —
Dog Training in Dubai
Below are the questions we hear most often from dog owners in Dubai. If your question is not here, get in touch — we are happy to answer anything.
We are Enric and Anna — certified dog trainers and behavior consultants based in Dubai. We work with dog owners on behavior problems, puppy training, separation anxiety, and husbandry training. We also provide consultancy for zoos and animal parks. We have over 15 years of experience working with animals across four countries.
We offer several programs, each designed to your dog:
Aggression & reactivity training — for dogs that lunge, bark, growl, or guard
Puppy training — socialization, potty training, basic training foundation
Separation anxiety program — for dogs that panic when left alone (online, worldwide)
Husbandry training — getting your dog comfortable with grooming, vet visits, and handling
Enrichment — mental and physical stimulation and confidence building
We are based in Dubai, UAE. We come to your home for sessions anywhere in Dubai. For separation anxiety, we work online with clients worldwide.
Our training approach is force-free and science-based. We use positive reinforcement and follow the L.E.G.S. model of applied ethology — looking at your dog's Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self to understand the full picture. We do not use any punishment nor aversive techniques that will cause discomfort to your dog. More about our approach →
No. We are 100% force-free. We never use aversive techniques that will cause fear and discomfort to your dog. We teach dogs what to do instead of punishing them for what they are doing wrong.
Yes. Our goal is to teach you how to work with your dog, not to train your dog for you. You are with your dog all day — understanding their body language, reinforcing the right behaviors with good timing, and knowing how to respond in the moment is what makes the real difference. We coach you through it.
Contact us to book a consultation. We will talk about your dog, your situation, and your goals. From there, we recommend a program and build a plan that fits.
We do not publish fixed prices because every dog and situation is different. The right program depends on your dog's history, the behavior you want to address, and your goals. Contact us and we will put together a quote based on what fits best.
In your home and in the outdoor areas you actually use — your park, your building, your neighborhood.
Yes. Our separation anxiety program is entirely online — you record your dog, we review the recordings daily and adjust the plan. We also offer online consultations for behavior advice and training guidance when in-person sessions are not possible.
As soon as you bring your dog home — whether it is a puppy or an adult. Early training builds good habits and prevents problems. But training can start at any age. As we always say: it is never too early, and it is never too late.
It depends on your goals. The sessions are for you to understand the training concept and the plan to follow. Behavior keeps changing depending on many factors, the more sessions you do, the more you will be able to learn and so will your dog.
Training is a lifelong process. Every interaction you have with your dog is a learning experience for them — often without you realizing it. Our goal is to help you understand how your dog behaves and give you the tools to keep supporting them. Some people finish one program and feel confident on their own. Others prefer ongoing sessions. It is up to you.
Yes. Training is not just for addressing problems — it builds your relationship, gives your dog mental stimulation, and prevents issues before they start. Whether you want to teach something fun or set your dog up for success, training is always worthwhile.
Because our presence in your home would alter your whole routine and we would be confusing your dog even more. The only proven way that works is online, through a gradual exposure approach and by creating personalized training plans according to each session. More about the separation anxiety program →
Yes. Puppies explore the world with their mouths. It does not mean your puppy is aggressive. What matters is teaching them to control the pressure and redirect to appropriate things. We cover this in every puppy training program.
Husbandry training helps dogs get comfortable with daily care routines — body checks, nail trimming, teeth brushing, grooming, vet procedures. Instead of forcing a dog through a stressful experience, we teach them to participate willingly. It makes a real difference to their wellbeing, especially for dogs that already find handling stressful.
In most cases, yes. We are certified in aggression through Michael Shikashio's program. We look at the full picture — what is causing the aggression, what is maintaining it, and what we can change. Very few dogs are beyond help, and we will be honest with you about what is realistic during the assessment. More about aggression training →
