About Well-Behaved
Well-Behaved is Enric and Anna — a husband-and-wife team of certified dog trainers and behavior consultants based in Dubai.
We have spent over 15 years working with animals. We started with exotic birds, running training programs and designing habitats for zoos and animal parks in Spain, Indonesia, India, and the UAE. That work taught us how to read animal behavior, build trust with different species, and design programs that respect the animal's welfare.
When our own dog Lucky came into our lives, we decided to put all of our knowledge and experience toward helping dogs and their owners live more fulfilling lives together, by building a sense of understanding, trust, and clear communication. And we saw how many dog owners in Dubai were getting advice that ignored all of that.
We believe animal behavior always has a reason in every situation. This understanding is the foundation on which Well-Behaved was created.
How We Work
We come to your home. We watch your dog. We ask you a lot of questions. We then build a plan based on what we actually see — not a template, not a script we run with every client.
Every dog is different. A fearful rescue from the shelter is not the same as a confident puppy that just needs to learn the basics. A Labrador that guards food is not the same as a German Shepherd that lunges at strangers on walks. We treat each dog as an individual and each family as a unique situation.
We train your dog, but more importantly, we teach you. You are with your dog every day. If you understand how your dog behaves, what their body language is telling you, and how to respond in the moment — that is worth more than any number of sessions with us.

What We Believe
We are force-free trainers. That is not a marketing label — it is a line we do not cross. We do not use any punishment nor aversive techniques that will cause discomfort to your dog ever.
We follow the L.E.G.S. model of applied ethology — Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self. It means that when a dog has a behavior problem, we do not just look at the behavior. We look at what the dog has learned from past experiences, what in their environment is contributing, what their breed is predisposed to, and what is going on internally (health, stress, age, temperament).
That full picture is what lets us make real, lasting change instead of suppressing behavior. We believe training should be something both you and your dog look forward to. Not something either of you endures.
Our Certifications
We stay current because science keeps evolving. What we know about dog behavior today is different from what the field believed ten years ago, and we owe it to our clients to keep up.
IAABC — International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants: The IAABC sets global standards for behavior consulting. Membership requires demonstrated knowledge, ongoing education, and adherence to a code of ethics that prioritizes animal welfare.
Certified Separation Anxiety Behavior Consultant: Trained under Julie Naismith's program — one of the most respected separation anxiety certifications worldwide. This is a specialist credential, not a general dog training certificate.
L.E.G.S. Family Dog Mediation — Kim Brophey: Applied ethology framework for understanding dog behavior through the lens of Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self. This is the model that informs how we assess every dog we work with.
Certified in Aggression in Dogs — Michael Shikashio: Specialized certification for working with aggression cases. Covers fear-based aggression, resource guarding, reactivity, and all forms of dog-to-dog and dog-to-human aggression.
International School for Certified Dog Trainers: Focused on science-based methodology and understanding how dogs learn.
Beyond Dog Training
Our background is not limited to dogs. We spent years working with zoos and animal parks — designing habitats, training exotic birds for presentations, building enrichment programs, and training staff in animal husbandry.
That work gave us a deep understanding of animal behavior across species. It also taught us something that applies to every dog we work with: animals learn best when they feel safe, when they have choices, and when the process respects who they are.
